How the maths works
The calculator models each portion of REFER200 independently against the published thresholds. Your entries indicate that you may qualify for the £75 reward when qualifying card spend reaches £100 within 30 days, subject to Tide’s validation. Your entries indicate that you may qualify for the £125 reward when at least £5,000 reaches Tide Instant Saver within seven days and remains there for the required 30-day hold, subject to Tide’s validation. Anything below a threshold does not produce a partial reward for that component.
What counts as card spend
Standard Tide business card transactions count — chip-and-PIN, contactless, online, Apple Pay / Google Pay. ATM withdrawals, bank transfers, internal moves and refunded transactions are excluded. Full breakdown: what counts as Tide card spend.
What counts as the saver deposit
The £5,000 must arrive in Tide Instant Saver within 7 days of opening — not be sent on day 7 and land on day 8. Multiple transfers totalling £5,000 typically count, but a single Faster Payment is the cleanest evidence. The balance must stay at or above £5,000 for a full 30 days. See the £5,000 saver requirement page.
Worked examples
- £150 card spend, £5,000 saver deposited on day 3, held for 30 days → £200. Both portions paid.
- £60 card spend, £5,000 saver deposited on day 4, held for 30 days → £125. Saver portion paid; card-spend below threshold.
- £120 card spend, £4,500 in saver → £75. Card-spend portion paid; saver below £5,000 threshold.
- £120 card spend, £5,000 deposited on day 9 → £75. Card-spend portion paid; saver missed the 7-day window.
- £120 card spend, £5,000 deposited on day 3 then withdrawn on day 20 → £75. Card-spend portion paid; saver hold broken before day 30.
What the calculator cannot model
- Account approval. Tide's decision on your application is binary — the calculator assumes you'll be approved.
- Tide's discretionary review. Even with all conditions met, Tide validates each portion. The estimate is what you're eligible for, not a guarantee.
- Excluded transaction types. If your "card spend" is actually dominated by ATM withdrawals or transfers, qualifying spend will be lower than what you've entered.

Frequently asked questions
Is my estimate guaranteed?+
No. The calculator is advisory. Tide validates each portion against your actual account activity and pays cashback at its discretion within the published terms.
Does the calculator track me?+
Your inputs stay in your browser session. We push an anonymous event when an estimate is generated so we can improve the tool — no personal data is collected.
Why is depositing on day 7 risky?+
Bank transfers can take a working day to settle. A transfer sent on day 7 may not arrive in Instant Saver until day 8 — too late for the £125 portion. Aim for day 5 or earlier.
Can I get £125 without spending £100 on the card?+
Yes — the two rewards are independent. The saver portion isn't gated on card spend, and vice versa.
What if I deposit more than £5,000?+
The threshold is £5,000 — there's no extra reward for going above. Many users park their Corporation Tax or VAT pot in Instant Saver after the 30-day hold ends.
How accurate is the deadline projection?+
It assumes Tide's clocks start the day you open the account. If your application takes a day or two to clear, deadlines shift accordingly — be conservative and treat them as the earliest dates.
