Day 0 — Setup

  • Open the Tide account using REFER200 (our link attaches it automatically).
  • Complete identity verification in one sitting.
  • Order the physical Tide card; activate Apple Pay / Google Pay immediately for early spend.
  • Screenshot the "referred by REFER200" confirmation, just in case.

Days 1–7 — The saver deadline

  • Deposit £5,000 into Tide Instant Saver by day 5 at the latest (Faster Payments arrive within minutes).
  • Diary the day-30 hold-end date so you don't withdraw early.
  • Disable any standing orders that might dip the balance below £5,000.

Full rules: £5,000 saver requirement.

Days 1–30 — The card-spend deadline

  • Pay one or two normal business expenses on the Tide card each week.
  • Track running total — aim for £100 in qualifying spend by week 3.
  • Avoid ATM withdrawals; they don't count.

See what counts as Tide card spend.

Day 30 — Verify, don't withdraw

  • Confirm card spend ≥ £100 and Instant Saver still at or above £5,000.
  • Wait for Tide to validate before withdrawing the saver balance.

After day 30 — If cashback hasn't arrived

Allow Tide a fair validation window. If you're past it, walk through cashb ack not received.

What to record before contacting Tide

Use the first month to establish your invoice, receipt and reconciliation routine. Keep the promotion timeline separate from ordinary cash-flow, tax and supplier-payment decisions so a possible reward does not distort the business workflow.

  • The date your account opened and the date you applied.
  • A screenshot of the referral or promotion field, if one was shown.
  • Relevant transaction, deposit or account-timeline dates and amounts.
  • The exact question you need Tide to answer, without assuming an outcome.

Keep the record for your own follow-up. Tide decides account approval, promotion eligibility and any reward validation. For related checks, see the cashback help hub and the current REFER200 status page.

Frequently asked questions

Can I do this if I don't have £5,000 spare?+

Yes — you can still earn the £75 card-spend portion on its own. The two rewards are independent.

What if my account is approved late on day 1?+

Tide's clocks generally start at account opening. Apply early in the day to avoid losing hours.

Should I also explore Tide's paid plans?+

Stick with the free plan for the cashback period unless you specifically need a paid feature. See our Tide review for plan comparisons.
